Sailing adventure by catamaran – Beruwela

Back Back

The South Coast of Sri Lanka has long been praised for it’s azure waters, therefore getting out on the Indian Ocean is an absolute must when visiting this part of the island. The areas of Bentota and Beruwela boast spectacular coastal scenery and some fantastic coves and islets. Spend a relaxed morning on board a luxurious sailing boat to get you straight into holiday mode.

Experience Overview

The morning trip takes off from Beruwela Harbor at 9am. You will be greeted on board by an experienced crew and sail out to a nearby islet. Take the opportunity to try snorkeling or stand up paddle board and then jump on a mini speed boat to go out to explore a lighthouse in the middle of the ocean. The lighthouse itself is surrounded by tropical plants and nestled away in a coconut plantation. From the top you will get the most amazing views of the surrounding scenery and on the way back the staff will climb a coconut tree and grab you a fresh king coconut! As you sail back towards shore enjoy a beer or soft drink with some light Sri Lankan snacks, arriving back just in time for lunch at 12. Disconnect and relax.

Managing Expectations

It is important to remember that, whilst they are experts in their field, the people who run or host our experiences are not necessarily used to working in the tourism industry and may not offer the level of service you would find at a five-star hotel. For example, instead of a formal lecture, you may get a relaxed conversation where open discussion is encouraged. All of our hosts are, however, extremely engaging, knowledgeable and passionate about educating visitors about their chosen subject and we have worked with them to ensure that they deliver worthwhile, fulfilling experiences. We welcome feedback, so please let us know what you thought and if you think any improvements could be made to the experiences we offer.
