Clingendael is a large home built in a Dutch Sri Lankan style with materials dating back to 1782. Tastefully furnished by its present owners, Clingendael offers five large, well-appointed bedrooms, spacious wrap around verandas and colonnades, and a manicured garden with an infinity pool overlooking the mountains and the reservoir.
The five air-conditioned suites are individually styled and named both in Dutch and color-coded in English for easy reference.

Brown Room – Vreugd En Rust
Dutch for ‘Happiness and Relaxation’, the Brown Room features a king-sized bed and outdoor seating areas. This too has an upper mezzanine floor and an adjoining walk-in robe with a dressing table. The bathroom opens out to nature with utmost privacy. You also have your own private dining and sitting areas.

Meals are served in one of 7 different locations – Clingendael’s cool verandas, in one of the garden pergolas, overlooking the pond, the pool or the golf course, or in the vicinity of one of the water features in the gardens, situated on the hill at the back of Clingendael. In addition there is also a dining table that sits 14 people and has an adjoining bar. The menu includes traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry, Oriental favorites and Western cuisine. Feel free to discuss your preferences with the chef.
