Situated in the heart of Colombo this stunning heritage hotel is of great national importance since it used to be home to the country’s most famous ruling family, the Bandaranaikes. Transformed into a chic boutique hotel by lifestyle designer Shanth Fernando of Paradise Road and The Gallery Cafe fame, the mansion has been stylishly refurbished with a new wing perfectly blended onto the rear. High ceilings, ornate columns and polished wooden floors reflect the grandeur of the era and seamlessly blend with the contemporary interior design. The ten air-conditioned suites at Tintagel feature high ceilings, beautiful polished timber floors and are lavishly decorated with edible colour schemes – think avocado, chocolate and mocha – and individual pieces of art that make each living space unique. Suites benefit from a fully furnished private courtyard, balcony or lounge as well as sumptuous bedding in the form of deluxe mattresses, 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets atop custom-designed four poster beds and a specially selected pillow menu. Amenities include LCD TVs on the walls with built-in CD/DVD players, mini bars, IDD phones and personal safes.

Cosy bathrooms are characterised by mosaic tile detailing and feature rain showers, separate bath tubs and large vanities as well as plenty of soft towels and deliciously scented toiletries.
