We designed this trip for couples and friends who are looking for a luxurious beach holiday. We have chosen small boutique hotels, which include some of the best on the island.
| Galle | Follow the palm fringed coastline to Galle, Sri Lanka’s jewel of the south. Get lost within the ramparts of the 17th century Galle Fort, the largest living fort in Asia. Go kayaking, explore local villages by bike or spend the afternoon on the beach. |
| Tangalle | Discover ancient cave temples, visit local markets and relax on wild, deserted beaches. |
| Galle Inland | Visit tea estates, explore the Sinharaja rainforest and simply relax. You might enjoy a bicycle ride through some of the local paddy and villages inland from Galle. There are some stunning rides. Ask us. |
| Colombo | Colombo is definitely worth an afternoon. We will take you through the backstreets of Colombo’s old market and fort. Connect with Colombo’s contemporary art scene, and end the day with sunset drink at the legendary Galle Face Hotel. The area couple of great restaurants as well. |
The Sybaritic South Coast is a trip for true travel connoisseurs, particularly couples, honeymooners, and groups of friends who appreciate tasteful hotels with interesting art and book collections, and stunning gardens. We will travel south to spend a few days in Galle, at the former home of a Dutch governor, then enjoy a few relaxing days beside one of the most beautiful beaches on the island before completing the trip in style at a house situated in the middle of a tea plantation whose name translates to ‘yellow moon mountain.’
Apart from relaxing and enjoying the hotels, this trip offers the chance to indulge in many activities including surfing, bicycle rides through paddy fields, exploration of the old Dutch citadel of Galle Fort and watching beautiful sunsets over the Indian Ocean.
The hotels that we have chosen are undoubtedly some of the finest in the south. The Dutch House has won countless awards and is decadently luxurious whilst retaining an intimate, homely feel with only four rooms. Comparatively, Amanwella is an exclusive modern hotel, set on its own private beach and Kahanda Kanda is a jewel in the jungle, but close enough to Galle and the beach for those wanting to get out and explore. Many people prefer to do nothing else but find a quiet place to read and contemplate the nature that surrounds them.
