Golf In Sri Lanka

Back Back

Trip Overview

We designed this trip for a solo traveler, couple or a group of friends, but the tour can be made more child-friendly – just speak to one of our travel consultants. This unique one-week trip around the island incorporates the best golf courses in Sri Lanka with visits to historical sites and experiences which will allow you to explore the country’s fascinating culture. Travel from Negombo to the award-winning Victoria Golf Course close to Kandy, set beside a reservoir with spectacular views of the Knuckles Mountain Range. While in Kandy, combine golf with guided visits to some of Kandy’s most interesting sites including the Temple of the Tooth and the Botanical Gardens. When ready for a change of terrain, head to Nuwara Eliya – via seaplane if you want to save time – and play golf on one of Asia’s oldest courses. Step back 100 years, into a world of 19th century character and charm: surround yourself with country homes, log fires in the evening and mountain views. We take you to visit one of Sri Lanka’s oldest tea plantations with a resident planter who’ll provide interesting insights into the growth and manufacture of tea – Sri Lanka’s most famous crop. From Nuwara Eliya you’ll travel to Colombo. Finish off in style with a few rounds at the Royal Colombo Golf Club and combine golf with the charms of the city by taking a walk on Galle Face Green at sunset, exploring the old Pettah bazaar district, visiting art galleries and enjoying the excellent range of restaurants.

The Wallawwa

Negombo

Though situated just a few kilometers from the airport, The Wallawwa feels nothing like a transit hotel. Sitting in acres of beautifully mature gardens, this charming boutique hotel is a sanctuary of serenity and style where the old merges beautifully with the new. Built over 200 years ago in the traditional “Dutch warehouse’ colonial design, The Wallawwa is the most ancient manor house in the entire province and was an ancestral home for many years.

With its completely secluded location, The Wallawwa is a luxurious private hideaway whose 17 boutique bedrooms, exquisite food and wonderfully oversized Z Spa are the perfect ingredients for a relaxing and memorable stay. The hotel’s signature swimming pool sits in the garden a short distance from the main house, while a yoga garden is peacefully located beside the spa.

Tintagel - Sri Lanka In Style

Tintagel

Colombo

The former home of Sri Lanka’s most famous ruling family the Bandaranaikes, Tintagel is now a sophisticated heritage hotel located in the heart of Colombo. The property was elevated to a chic, boutique hotel by Udayshanth Fernando, the same man behind The Villa Bentota and Paradise Road, who refurbished the colonial mansion with a new wing that blends seamlessly with the original architecture. The polished interiors exude a stately grandeur and are perfectly poised to satisfy even the most discerning guests. Tintagel is a very private and stylish retreat: recuperate after a busy day in the spa or steam room, or relax in the elegant lap pool.

Tintagel consists of ten opulent a/c suites, each with its own individual décor – the bold colors and textures of the furnishings and fabrics shape the character of each room. Most rooms have the luxury of a fully-furnished private balcony, whilst others enjoy terraces full of greenery, and all come with a separate lounge area. If you thought sleeping between 400-thread Egyptian cotton sheets was heavenly, wait till you sample their pillow menu!

Activities during your stay
