Located approximately an hour south of Colombo, the long, wide beach at Wadduwa is certainly its main attraction. You can also explore the town and meet the local bakers and papaya and fish sellers. Alternatively, you could also take a day trip to Bentota and visit Lunuganga, the famous home and gardens of renowned architect, Geoffrey Bawa, or indulge in some exhilarating water-sports. Colombo is also nearby – go for a day trip to Sri Lanka’s capital where there are lots of things to do for children and adults, as well as opportunities for shopping and fine dining.
