KK prides itself on using the freshest local produce for cooking and, where possible, as much of their own organically grown fruits, vegetables and herbs to ensure the best of flavours. The two resident chefs have both been trained in Thailand and so while they are able to create a mouth-watering range of flavourful Thai dishes, they are equally at home creating delicious Sri Lankan and Western inspired cuisine.

Breakfast consists of freshly picked fruits from the garden, local specialities such as string hoppers or freshly baked bread, local organic jams and eggs accompanied by plenty of Ceylon tea and freshly brewed European coffee. Lunches are typically simple and sophisticated so that you leave room for gourmet three-course dinner menus that feature dishes such as chilled avocado soup for a starter, barbeque prawns on a skewer with coconut rice and ratatouille for a main and a delicious lime tart to follow for dessert. Preferences for meals can be discussed with the chefs daily, who can also prepare picnics for you to enjoy from any of the many picturesque spots in the garden.

With service not unlike that of a five-star hotel, KK leaves the timings of mealtimes up to the guests. Breakfasts and lunches are often served by the pool and dinners in the beautifully-sited open-sided Dining Pavilion although you can ask for a table to be set up wherever you wish. A teak table in the Dining Pavilion seats up to ten people, though for smaller parties it can be divided and the tables placed strategically to make the most of the amazing views.
