Hotels in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has hotels to suit all tastes and budgets, whether you prefer staying in intimate boutique hotels with only a handful of rooms; eco hotels in stunning natural areas with stilted chalets and traditional mud houses; yoga retreats; large hotels with all amenities which can be popular with families as well as hotels that specialise in activities such as watersports and ayurveda. You can even enjoy the complete privacy of staying on Taprobane Island.

The boutique hotels are full of character and charm and are often restored heritage houses. This is true of Tea Trails, which is a luxurious set of four colonial planter’s houses, as well as The Sun House, which was formerly a Scottish spice merchant’s residence. These hotels are a great option for couples and friends who are looking for style and comfort.

There are some fantastic Eco Hotels in Sri Lanka, which include Ulagalla Resort and Jetwing Vil Uyana in the Cultural Triangle. Both of these have stilted chalets based on traditional Sri Lankan building styles but boasting all the latest modern amenities. If you are looking for a retreat then Ulpotha is a fantastic option offering twice daily yoga classes and ayurvedic treatments.
