	This fascinating journey takes you to the ancient cities of the cultural triangle, over the towering hills of the central Sri Lanka towards the legendary coastal city of Galle and finally into the hustle and bustle of Colombo town, one of Asia’s best kept secrets. It is possible to take an air taxi from Colombo's international airport to the cultural triangle. For those who prefer to have their feet on the ground at all times, the drive is a pleasant one along country roads, amidst lush coconut plantations. The cultural triangle is home to Sri Lanka's ancient kingdoms. It is full of legend and folklore, boasting a collection of spectacular ancient monuments testifying to the greatness of Sri Lanka's ancient history. The city of Kandy is home to Sri Lanka's most important religious shrine, the Temple of the Tooth. The best time to visit Kandy is during the Eshala Perahera which takes place around the full moon in August. For many the Tea Country or Hill Country is the most scenic part of Sri Lanka. Towering over the beautiful valley of Maskeliya is Adam's peak one of the country's most important places of pilgrimage. You may choose to fly all the way to Galle. The place flies majestically over Adam's peak and the Peak Wilderness reservoir and takes you down to the coast in merely 50 minutes. If you choose the drive best to break the trip to the coast by spending two nights at Uda Walawe National Park. Uda Walawe National Park is Sri Lanka’s best park for Elephant sightings. You will camp for two nights instyle by the remote and exotic Walawe river. On your way around the southern coast, also known as the Serendip Riviera, you will visit the Unesco World Heritage Galle Fort, with its lovely colonial atmosphere and its quirky little boutique hotels, shops and restaurants. Colombo is your last stop. A glimpse beneath the chaotic façade of this metropolis on the banks of the Indian Ocean will reveal a treasure of delights and surprises to the inquisitive visitor.
