The Sybaritic South Coast
This journey takes its inspiration from the mesmerising beauty of the south – its beaches, temples, tea plantations, rainforests and wildlife-filled national parks. Galle - a coastal city with a proud heritage dating back to the ancient Sinhalese kings and more recently to the influences of the Portuguese and the Dutch – and its UNESCO-protected Fort play major parts in this adventure which, combined with Karl's invaluable insider tips to making the most out of your holiday, will result in a truly unforgettable experience.

About Karl.
Karl’s extensive artistic career in Australia and Asia has included writing, photography, cinema, theatre and design. After a B.A. in pure fine arts from Melbourne University, he majored in direction and editing at the Australian Film and Television School.
He has directed for some of Australia’s major theatre companies as well and created musicvideo clips for many international acts.
One holiday to Sri Lanka was all it took for Karl and Chris to fall in love with the incredible beauty of the island.
Four days after first arriving in Sri Lanka they bought a crumbling gem merchant’s mansion in the heart of the Galle Fort which they transformed into the award-winning Galle Fort Hotel.
Karl and Christopher live in Galle Fort and between bouts of reading, restoring antiques and photography, they are also working on the design for a sustainable beach hotel and turtle conservation centre.
