Choose from western or Sri Lankan breakfasts – or a little of both – whilst for lunch indulge in some of Tekla’s excellent salads and pastas, or lighter dishes of soups and sandwiches if you’d prefer. Fresh seafood is always available and as such, prawns, fish, calamari and lobster all feature prominently on the menu and are excellent grilled for dinner. Rice and curry is a speciality of the house, as are some lesser well-known Sri Lankan dishes including fried rice, noodles and devilled dishes of fish, chicken or vegetables. Desserts include fresh fruit, ice cream and wattalapan (a Sri Lankan crème caramel) as well as a selection of deliciously rich cakes that are also excellent accompaniments to afternoon tea. You can choose to dine wherever takes your fancy, at any time of the day.
The kitchen is well-equipped and may also be used for self-catering if you’d prefer. The staff will act as sous chefs and even better, assist with all of the cleaning up. Tekla can also teach you how to perfect the art of Sri Lankan curry cooking so you have something quite unique to share with friends when you get back home.
