Chena Huts is the first boutique hotel in Yala, home of the second largest national park in the island, which is renowned for its high density of leopards. Sprawled across seven acres, the fourteen luxurious cabins are scattered amidst the shrub jungle amply shaded by trees offering guests maximum privacy.
Each of the cabins, the reception and dining area are designed to resemble a local village with rustic touches such as palm-thatched roofs fitted with wooden furniture.
The reception and dining area are located on the edge of the sea with sounds of the waves inviting guests to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
The cabins are tastefully decorated with interiors and furniture in line with the rustic style. It features a king-sized bed, a desk, minibar, coffee and tea making facilities and TV. The free-standing bath faces the open twin sink area complete with complimentary toiletries. The outdoor deck has a built-in plunge pool with Jacuzzi.
Their restaurant, The Basses, offers a variety of mouth-watering Sri Lankan, Asian and Western dishes. Their Sri Lankan breakfast includes some local favorites such as milk rice and coconut roti.
Just for the kids
Chena Huts welcomes kids of all ages. Cabin No 5 has twin beds and is connected to No 6 via a short walkway which is ideal for families.
