This lakefront property is in the small village of Kathaluwa by Koggala Lake, a mere 700 meters from the surf beaches at Koggala and 20 minutes by tuk tuk from the historic town of Galle. Mandalay is made up of two separate pavilions, one for sleeping and the other for dining – the latter has spectacular views across the water. In total, six people can comfortably be accommodated here, with two of this number being children. An extra bed can be setup for a child if required. The villa is a haven of tranquility, and the perfect place to relax and revitalize. Mandalay comes staffed with a private chef, housekeeper, gardener, pool attendant, two security guards and a couple of friendly resident dogs.

There are three rooms in total: one with a double bed; one twin, and a master suite which makes up the entire top floor, which has wide doorways and windows and panoramic views of the garden and sparkling lake beyond. All the rooms are fitted with A/C and ensuites with bathtubs and showers. One room has an outside bathroom.

The villa’s staff includes a very good cook, and all meals can be provided (although only the fresh, tropical breakfast is included in the price). We recommend that you have breakfast on the pontoon, enjoy lunch by the 25-meter pool and sunset cocktails by the lake – then have dinner anywhere you choose! Mandalay’s in-house cook will be delighted to suggest menus and shop for you – or with you – in the local markets. Nearby Galle Fort has a range of fantastic restaurants and cafés.
