From sunrise to sunset, breath-taking views are a promise: watch fishermen in wooden canoes rowing in with their catch in the early morning, with the peaceful soundtrack of Buddhist chanting, or go for a leisurely walk around the lake in the evening as the sunlight reflects brightly off the water. There is much to see and do in this area if you can tear yourself away from this peaceful paradise – visit the historic Galle Fort; go surfing in Ahangama; see the iconic stilt fisherman at Koggala Beach, or indulge in some exhilarating water-sports at Unawatuna Bay. The villa comes fully staffed with an excellent chef, caretaker, house-keeper, gardener and 24-hour security guard.

Each room is luxuriously decorated and furnished with a four-posted bed, lounging area, office desk and a/c. They all have ensuite bathrooms overlooking the lake, fitted with outdoor showers, bathtubs and two sinks. Two rooms are interconnecting and there is a separate lounge area that can act as a fifth bedroom, complete with bed and bathroom.

Asanka, the chef, specializes in Sri Lankan cuisine but also caters to Western preferences. His curries are very popular, and so is his seafood which is locally-sourced from the lake and the sea. Asanka uses fresh produce from the nearby markets or the villa’s own garden. Mealtimes are flexible as well for your convenience. Alcoholic beverages are not provided, but staff can purchase alcohol on behalf of guests.

Serendipity is child friendly. The pool and secure trampoline which stands in the garden allows for plenty of fun.
