Read our blog or contact one of our expert trip planners to find out how you can take advantage of this special policy.
Situated on the buffer zone of the Wilpattu National Park, the largest wildlife park in Sri Lanka, Leopard Safaris by KK Collection provides a great camping experience. Guests are welcomed to the campsite midday where they have a delicious Sri Lankan lunch before heading out for the evening game drive.
The customized Toyota jeeps used for the game drives are equipped with camera support points, binoculars, monopods, sandbags and battery-charging facilities for photographers. The engines are quiet, therefore perfect for wildlife spotting. You may be lucky enough to spot leopards and sloth bears as well as other mammals and numerous bird species.
Leopard Safaris by KK Collection operates on an all-inclusive basis offering tented accommodation, two game drives per day in a customized vehicle accompanied by an experienced guide, snacks and drinks on game drives, all meals at camp, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and all park entry fees. If guests are interested in going on a private game drive accompanied by a naturalist an additional supplement is applicable.
Double and Family Tents
There are 3 double tents and a family tent which can accommodate up to 4 people. The high quality tents from South Africa are well ventilated with sizeable windows and are furnished with a side table, shelf and camp chair. The separate washroom has a flushable toilet with a shower which also has hot water.
Things to do ?
The meals at Leopard Safaris by KK Collection are good by any standard, and particularly for the fact that they are prepared at a national park. Breakfast includes Western and some Sri Lankan dishes. Lunches are often delicious Sri Lankan curries and rice, followed by fruit salad or curd. After your afternoon safari, you will enjoy drinks and snacks, followed by a beautiful al fresco dinner with the forest behind and a myriad of stars above. Some evenings there are barbecues or hoppers.
Just for the kids
Leopard Safaris by KK Collection have invented some special activities for kids such as photography courses and a footprint memory game. Children also get a small surprise when they come to the camp. A baby cot, baby car seat or children’s high chair can be arranged on request. The camp’s ‘Kiddies Dinner’ is an early dinner for small adventurers and can either be served near the lounge, or in the dining area under supervision of the camp’s staff to give parents a small break. All children’s meals are child-friendly versions of the Sri Lankan dishes on offer.
